Geocache Description:
This cache was originally placed at Moran Park in Holland on 02/01/2012, but after it was taken three times and replaced twice, I decided to move it closer to home so that I wouldn't have to drive 25 miles to check on it and replace it each time. Anyone who found the original does not have to look for this since I have your names recorded already. However, if you need another find, go ahead and look for this again, since it is considered to be an entirely new cache.
Each container will be a set of footwear that represents the sport "venue" that is close by. You may need to bring your own writing utensils with you.
Bobby Riggs was a 1930s-40s tennis player who was the No. 1 singles player in 1941,1946, and 1947. He won the Grand Slam at Wimbledon in 1939, and the US Open in 1939 and 1941.
He also won the Grand Slam doubles at Wimbledon in 1939, and the Grand Slam mixed doubles at Wimbledon in 1939, and the US Open in 1940.
One of his claims to fame later in life, was in 1973, when he came out of retirement to challenge Margaret Court, who at that time was the top female athlete in the world. He won that match 6-2,6-2, which vaulted him into tennis fame once again.
Later that year, he challenged Billy Jean King in a match billed as the "Battle of the Sexes". King beat Riggs in 3 sets, to take the $100,000 winner takes all prize.
Although Billy never played tennis on these courts that are in view of the cache, there have been many fine Calvin Christian tennis players who got their start here.
I hope you LOVE this cache and won't find FAULT with it. It is SET a short distance from the COURT and should be no MATCH for your geocache skills. I tried to ADD IN some measure of difficulty with its placement. However the NET result was an average of 2, not counting all the RACKET from the l courts nearby.
