This Old Granary building was first erected in 1820 and is the only surviving out building of what was a complex of buildings making up Parsonage Farm, known more locally as ‘Wards Farm’(after its mid C20th owners). The farm was originally owned and operated by The Curtis Family (who are commemorated in the local Church). It included the existing mid 18th century farmhouse at No. 240 Catherington Lane, with the farmland stretching as far west as Ham Lane. The Granary is one of Catherington’s nine listed buildings.
The Granary was donated to Horndean Parish Council in 1985 by Emily Ward in loving memory of her husband Frederick Ward.

There is some very handy parking nearby. I hope you enjoy the village as much as I do.
