Our first cache named "Sky Liquid" was placed at the old water tower in Airdrie, Alberta. You've probably seen it as you drive past Airdrie on the Number 2 highway. We think these old relics are quite interesting and definitely give the towns of Alberta a distinctive look, so we plan on placing a few more at different locations and making "Sky Liquid" a series.
You can see this distinctive red water tower as you drive into Drumheller from the West. This is the water tower for the medium-security prison known as the "Drumheller Institution," which has been here since 1967. You can see the water tower to the East and slightly to the South from the cache location. We could have placed it closer, but were a little hesitant about placing a cache TOO close to the prison grounds. Range Road 201, just to the South of the cache location, is a public road however, so you are welcome to drive to the East on it and see the water tower close up. This water tower looks very similar to the one in Airdrie, except for the colour.
