Geocache Description:

The Stillness is scattered with the remains of former comms, their roads, and their technologies. Generally, when people need to refer to these ruins, they call them "deadciv artefacts" as they are usually all that remains of a dead civilisation. As you travel with Essun, Damaya and Syenite, you will come across many examples. Fallen silos, rubble walls, even hulks of iron left behind by those too foolish to heed Stonelore. After all, it's not for nothing that people say "Trust wood, trust stone, but metal rusts."

The most beautiful deadciv artefacts are the giant crystal obelisks which can be seen sometimes drifting through the air. No living human knows who created them, or why, or much cares. After all, they couldn't help the civilisation which created them when Father Earth woke from his slumber and brought a fifth season down upon them.

The ruins are the remains of Cloghwilly farm, formerly part of the holdings of Rushen Abbey. In 1864 it was in the possession of John Quaggin, and it would be fascinating to get hold of old photographs and information from when it was still inhabited.

PLEASE NOTE: you do not need to enter the buildings to approach the cache. If you insist on doing so, it is at your own risk.

Cache inspired by the works of N.K. Jemisin and placed with the kind permission of DEFA
