GAGB 2019 CITO Weekend
This is just one of the many events to be be held across the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands as part of the GAGB Annual CITO weekend, which this year is concentrating on the conservational side of CITO.
Newton Farm Ecology Park
Rayners Lane
Harrow HA2 9DA
Saturday 14th September {10:00 to 12:00}
Join us and the Harrow Nature Conservation Forum in Newton Farm Ecology Park, for a couple of hours of litter picking, and maintenance of the different habitat zones within the park
Saturday 14th September, between 10am and Midday
Location: Newton Park Ecology Park. We'll meet in front of the gates to the hut just inside the park from Rayners Lane (the eastern side).
Activity: We'll be joining other volunteers with general maintenance of the park. We won't know exactly what this entails until a few days before, but will probably include litter picking, tending of plants and trees, and general habitat maintenance.
Notes: Feel free to bring your own food for a picnic following the CiTO held near the hut. Hot drinks will be available from HNCF.
Getting there: Public transport is avaliable on both side of the park - with the H12 stopping nearby on the Rayners Lane side, and the 398 stopping on the Alexandra Avenue side. It's also walkable from both Rayners Lane and South Harrow Underground stations. There is a small car park on the Rayners Lane side, while street parking is available all around.
The GAGB
 |
The Geocaching Association of Great Britain (GAGB). The Association was established in 2003 to provide a national geocaching organisation and serve as a UK point of contact for geocachers, landowners, the media and others with an interest in geocaching.
As part of its 10th anniversary, it was decided to hold a CITO weekend in September which has now become an annual event. It would be great to see more of these icons pop up across the country and for other members to hold their own events where it is not feasible to attend one that a committee member has organised.

There is a lot more information about what we do, including the landowner database, comprehensive event listings and forums at www.gagb.org.uk. If you would like to get involved follow the link and find our contact details.
The GAGB are encouraging everyone to organise CITO events this weekend, in part to pay-back for what we hope will have been a great summer of caching, and also to make things more pleasant for future cachers. If this CITO is the nearest one to you, please come along! |
More information could well be announced, so either keep watch on the listing or log your "Will Attend" to make sure you receive the announcement logs.
