Geocache Description:

This cache is close to the site of the old Seaton Carew Swimming baths. these baths were donated by William Gray and opened in 1914. during the second world war they were requisitioned by the military and re-opened in 1951. This was where I and many others learned to swimming through school swimming lessons. The water was sea water taken in filtered and treated to make it safe to swim in, though at times the chlorine level made your eyes sting. The baths were closed in 1976 and demolished in 1978. I had the chance to go on site one day and stand in the deep end of the pool( now drained) and close my eyes to smell the chlorine and hear in my mind the voices of all the people who had swam there.

The site is now used for a fish and chip shop, Bar and Restaurant, the cache is not inside the fencing around these properties but close by.

This is a high Muggle area caution needed I have moved the cache because it was getting mugged and stolen. relocated it about 12 metres from original site. but still close
