Geocache Description:

Most locals would know this, But Birmingham City was built on the River Rea, however in the City there is very little evidence of this.  The River Rea already has many Caches hidden along it, either in and around the local parks and many on the Waseley Hills, where the source is, plus many hidden on the two Bourne brooks, and callow brook, that all flow to the River Rea,  As the Rea gets passed Birmingham, it flows into the Tame, which flows under the Spaghetti Junction, which flows to the Trent and then into the North Sea.

The Rea valley where these Cache are hidden are in Daffodil Park and some parts of the newly created Kings Norton Nature Reserve, and again, within the Nature Reserve, there are local Caches hidden. These caches can be done as singles or why not enjoy the area, and find these Caches, it shouldnt take any longer than two hours to collect them all, while doing so, keep a look out for me, I walk my Dog here every day a minimum of two times.  My dog is a Dalamtion Cross, He is mainly white with one black ear and very friendly and always off his lead, as he is well behaved and very placid.

The river walk you may have the pleasure of seeing many different species of wildlife.  The obvious birds are about and some of the obvious on the river.  However Heron and other wading birds have been spotted this far up.  You can see Rabbits, foxes, badger and many different rodents.  You may get to see the Bats if you come at dusk, they regularly fly passed me and even occasionally swoop near me so I feel and here them flying.  Kingfisher have also been spotted, but very rarely, There is also a woodpecker, that is always heard and locals do see it. We also have deer very near that rome out to these parts, they live behind the local reservoir, but they do venture this far down occasionally.

These Caches, are relatively easy to find, tried to make them Geo Kids family and as best we can wheel chair accesable (if you have a decent wheel chair)  During your walk, you can stop and look at the two oak trees that continue to grow despite being struck by lightening in the past. you will cross a few bridges and one road. If you collect all Caches, you will find the last one in a Oak Tree woods, that hasnt yet grown, so you will see 30 or so self cultivated Oak trees that are all in and around 10 years old. So still small and still establishing themselves.

So please enjoy your time caching my local area.  There are local shops very close to the parking zones, plus not to far away the Famous Great Stone pub and pound, Next to the Old St Laurance Church on top of the Hill, which is worth a visit in itself.
