Geocache Description:

The coordinates will take you to a bronze plaque with information about one of the oldest and most popular Christmas poems ever written. It was written in Manhattan's Chelsea on Christmas Eve, 1822 by wealthy landowner and Columbia professor Clement Clarke Moore as a seasonal poem to read to his children. It has a special place among Christmas traditions, right alongside hot chocolate, caroling and bright lights. It has also inspired the modern image of Santa Claus as a jolly old man sporting red and a round belly.
