VISEU
Viseu é uma cidade portuguesa do distrito homónimo, situada na província da Beira Alta, Região das Beiras e su
b-região do Dão-Lafões, com cerca de 100000 habitantes, sendo a segunda maior cidade da região do Centro de Portugal depois de Coimbra.
É sede de um concelho com 507,10 km² de área e 99 274 habitantes (2011), dividido em 25 freguesias. Viseu é centro da Comunidade Intermunicipal de Viseu Dão Lafões, composta por 14 municípios e servindo uma população de cerca de 270 000 habitantes. Este é limitado a norte pelo concelho de Castro Daire, a nordeste por Vila Nova de Paiva, a leste por Sátão e Penalva do Castelo, a sudeste por Mangualde e Nelas, a sul por Carregal do Sal, a sudoeste por Tondela, a oeste por Vouzela e a noroeste por São Pedro do Sul. Para além de sede de distrito e de concelho, Viseu é igualmente sede de diocese e de comarca.
Segundo um inquérito de opinião organizado pela DECO de 2007 sobre qualidade de vida, Viseu é a 17.ª cidade europeia com maior qualidade de vida entre as 76 do estudo, sendo ainda a primeira das 18 cidades capitais de distrito portuguesas com melhor qualidade de vida. Em 2012 foi considerada, mais uma vez, a cidade portuguesa com melhor qualidade de vida. 2017 é o ano oficial para visitar Viseu. Em 2018, Viseu é "Cidade Europeia do Folclore".

VISEU
Viseu is a city and municipality in the Centro Region of Portugal and the capital of the district of the same name, with a population of 99,274 inhabitants, and center of the Viseu Dão Lafões intermunipical community, with 267,633 inhabitants. The city of Viseu has 57,000 residents in its historic center. It is an immemorial city.
Settled during the period of the early Iberian Castro culture, the territory of Viseu was populated by a series of cultures including the Romans, Suebs, Visigoths and Moors. During the Roman occupation of Iberia, Viriathus, rebel leader of the Lusitanians, is assumed to have lived for a time in the vicinity. During the Middle Ages, the city often served as seat for Visigothic nobles (such as King Roderic), and is considered one of the probable birthplaces of Afonso Henriques, first King of Portugal.
Viseu is a regional economic hub with a strong wine industry and is the seat of international conglomerate Visabeira. The city is also a cultural center, home to the nationally acclaimed Grão Vasco Museum, seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Viseu, and pole of national universities, including the Catholic University of Portugal.
