Als ich die Gelegenheit bekam, einen Virtual-Cache zu legen habe ich eine Weile überlegt wo dieser sich am attraktivsten platzieren ließe. Da kamen mir natürlich in der Landeshauptstadt viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in den Sinn. Ich habe mich dann entschieden, eine typische Landschaftsform des Saarlandes zu wählen, eben die Bergehalde.
Die Bergehalde der Grube Jägersfreude dokumentiert den massiven Einfluss des Bergbaus auf die Landschaft. Der 1968 außer Betrieb genommene Spitzkegel überragt das natürliche Relief noch heute um 65 m. Der Gipfel des Spitzkegels erhielt 1994 ein weithin sichtbares Haldenkreuz. Von dort bietet sich ein faszinierender Panoramablick auf das alte Revier. Im Rahmen des Projekts „Regionalpark Saar“ entstanden zudem eine Aussichtsplattform und ein „Literarischer Gedankenaufstieg“. 14 Steinstufen begleiten den Besucher auf dem Weg zum Gipfel. Auf jeder Stufe sind Teile des Gedichts „Die Kinder der Toten“ von Elfriede Jelinek eingraviert.
Am Einfachsten kommt ihr zur Halde, wenn ihr an der Camphauser Straße bei N 49°15.236 E6°59.295 parkt.
Bis zum Haldenaufstieg bei N 49° 15.909 E 6° 59.583 sind es dann knapp 1,5 KM. Während des Spaziergangs wird euch die nahegelegene Autobahn akkustisch begleiten. Auch eine für Saarbrücken leider typische Begleiterscheinung.
Logbedingung: Wenn ihr den Gipfel erklommen habt, müsst ihr eure Anwesenheit mit einem Foto dokumentieren das euch oder etwas persönliches von euch (z.B. ein TB) und die Gipfelplattform zeigt. Diese Bild müsst ihr dem Log beifügen. Logs ohne Bild sind nicht gültig.
