Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS ONLY AVAILABLE DURING THE WARMER MONTHS AS ACCESS TO ELORA GORGE IS SEASONABLE
This breathtaking scenic virtual cache will require you to explore features at the top of the escarpment as well as descend to the bottom of the gorge. Use your best judgement for personal safety regarding water levels and flow rate. Also, water shoes will be helpful to not slip on the rocky river floor. The maximum water depth you should encounter is 2-3 feet. Plan on approximately 1 hour to complete this virtual cache.

STAGE 1 (at posted coordinates).
At the posted coordinates is a sign for the Lover's Leap lookout where you can read about the history here. You will see a long waist high wall leading up to and enclosing the scenic lookout, with inset stones in the top of the concrete. Enjoy the view while you're here and spy Stage 3 across the river to the left for later (big cave at water's edge with huge rock in front of opening).
LOGGING REQUIREMENT:Count all the inset stones and include broken insets where the stones are missing for the entire wall.

STAGE 2 (waypoint provided).
Directly underneath the Lover's Leap lookout is a cave. You'll need to descend down the stairs to the bottom of the gorge and climb up a little bit to get to the cave. A waypoint is provided for the top of the stairs.
LOGGING REQUIREMENT:Describe the shape of the cave opening and any prominent features inside the cave. Measure the width and depth of the cave at its widest points. Please do not include any photos of this cave in your logs.

STAGE 3 (waypoint provided).
Wade across the Grand River from Stage 2 to the large cave with the huge rock in front of the opening.
LOGGING REQUIREMENT: Take a uniquely identifiable photo with the large rock in front of the cave visible and the Lover's Leap lookout visible (see example image provided) and include it in your log. The uniquely identifiable photo can include yourself or your geocaching name on a piece of paper or something uniquely yours (eg. your GPS, your owned trackable, etc.)

All the logging requirements must be met in order to log your find.
