Indian Steps Museum was built by Judge John Edward Vandersloot between 1908 and 1912 as a private memorial to Native American culture. Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL) bought the property in 1939 and opened the museum to the public. The museum was added to the National Register of Historic places in 1989. Currently the Conservation Society of York County owns and maintains the property, which includes hiking trails and scenic views of the Susquehanna River. A small fee is required for admission into the museum – check their facebook page or their website for special events. Normally the museum is open Thursday to Sunday from 10 to 5. You do not need to enter the museum to answer the questions.
