Om Kunsthal Aarhus:
Kunsthal Aarhus er et moderne udstillingssted for samtidskunst og udstiller kunst på internationalt niveau til såvel et lokalt, som internationalt publikum.
Kunsthal Aarhus stræber efter at være en dynamisk og fleksibel institution og værdsætter en mangeartet tilgang til kunst.
Historie:
Kunsthal Aarhus blev grundlagt i 1917 på initiativ af bestyrelsen for Århus Kunstforening af 1847, og er en af de ældste kunsthaller i Europa.
Med den grundlæggende mission at “inspirere og promovere et generelt kendskab til de skønne kunster” blev udstillingsstedet modtaget med stor entusiasme af offentligheden. Lige siden har Kunsthal Aarhus spillet en central rolle i forhold til at udvikle og præsentere international samtidskunst i Danmark.
Institutionen er oprindeligt tegnet af arkitekt Høeg-Hansen og har gennem årene gennemgået en proces med arkitektoniske udvidelser, mest bemærkelsesværdigt af C. F. Møller Tegnestue i 1990'erne og 2000'erne, så kunsthallen i dag har over 1000 kvadratmeter udstillingsrum.
Bemærk kunstneren Søren Thilos figur foran museet der forestiller to udgaver af skuespilleren Arnold Schwarzenegger der krammer sig selv.
Som ansat på tegnestuen havde jeg den fornøjelse selv at være med i projektgruppen.

With the basic mission of "inspiring and promoting a general knowledge of the beautiful arts", the exhibition site was received with great enthusiasm by the public. Ever since, Kunsthal Aarhus has played a central role in developing and presenting international contemporary art in Denmark.
The institution was originally designed by architect Høeg-Hansen and has over the years undergone a process of architectural expansions, most notably by C. F. Møller Tegnestue in the 1990s and 2000s, so the art gallery today has over 1000 square meters of exhibition space.
