This cache has been archived.

BryanandTara: As much as I hate to do this, I can’t be certain when this cache could be back up and operational, so I’m going to archive it. Thanks to all who checked out the cool tree while it was there!

Geocache Description:

Logging Requirements:

Option 1: Take a picture of yourself or your GPSr with the mural in the background (no spoilers of the tree branches please)

Option 2: Count how many wheels are on the tree (just the kind that either do or would hold a tire, not the chain sprockets, etc.) and message us with your answer.

NOTE: Please provide an answer within a week of logging the virtual as a find. If you cannot meet this request, please let us know via message so that we don't delete your log.

Welcome to Malvern, IOWA! Malvern has been working diligently over the past few years to increase the amount of public art on display in town, and this series of trees really fit the town motto of "Artfully Growing". The particular tree which is the subject of this virtual cache is known to locals as the "bike tree", and is placed in a small park in town dedicated to the Wabash Trace, which also runs through town. The trees in town were commissioned thanks to Malvern winning an Iowa Great Places grant, and the artist who created them was Malvern's own Mr. Woody Jones. The mural on the side of the grocery store which can be seen from the starting coordinates was painted by Mr. Jones's nephew, Zach Jones who also lives in town.

Check the additional waypoints on this cache page to see all of the trees in town.
