The Victoria Trail is a wonderful short hike on the south side of Peter's Mountain. The blue blazed trail rises gently up a well built path to the ridge-line, where it joins the Appalachian Trail. If you saunter east on the AT for half a mile, you will get to the Whitetail Trail (pink blazes). Taking this south will allow you to rejoin the Victorial Trail which will take you back to the start. The overall distance it just over three miles.
Heading up the mountain from parking along PA Route 325, just before reaching the top, you will get to a small overlook. Stop and enjoy the mountains south of you. There are nice flat rocks that are perfect for a picnic.
Years ago, CCCooperAgency hid a traditional cache here. Unfortunately the location is too close to the AT to replace the OG cache in kind. I was fortunate enough to be awarded a virtual cache so you can still visit and sign the virtual log.
To log this cache, add a picture of the mountains, or the rocks, or your picnic, or an interesting stick bug you saw, or that big black snake that crossed your path down at the bottom! Be creative and enjoy this wonderful trail where my wife and I went on our first "hiking" date!
Please note that you will cross PA State Game Lands so be sure to wear orange during hunting season.
