Die Idee:
Wie kommt man auf so eine Idee den höchsten Berg Afrikas zu besteigen fragt Ihr Euch sicher?
Die Antwort ist schnell gefunden: man geht an einen Geocaching Stamm Tisch.
In unserem Fall ist es unser eigener Stamm
tisch von Riba14 und SteLaSyXL den sogenannten TriRegio Treff. Der Name verdankt er dem Drei Länder Eck:
Schweiz / Deutschland / Frankreich
Hier erzählte ein Cacher Paar von ihrem Abenteuer und Riba 14 hat mich dann informiert das sie nun weiss, wo wir das nächste Mal Urlaub machen. Ich sagte sofort Ja, ohne zu wissen wohin geschweige noch wie hoch es geht. Und so war das Projekt «Uhuhru Peak» gestartet.
Die Reise:
Als ein Teil von 3 verrückten Geocachern sind wir Riba14, dfg1998 und ich am 22.12.2018 in Zürich gestartet und via Doha zum Kilimanjaro Airport geflogen. Von dort ging es zuerst in unser Hotel wo wir zwei Tage zur Akklimatisierung verbrachten.
Nun kam aber unser grosser Tag und es ging endlich los, um den Kilimanjaro zu bezwingen.

Nach wenig Schlaf ging es um Mitternacht los Richtung
Gilman’s Point «5685 m.ü.M» wo wir gegen 06:17 ankamen.

Und genau hier liegt nun mein Virtual 2.0
Dieser soll allen gewidmet werden die es bis hierhergeschafft haben und neuen Mut zusprechen für die letzte Etappe zum Uhuru Peak auf «5895 m.ü.M». Es liegen nur noch 1,5 Stunden und 200 Höhenmeter vor Euch. Es sei aber hier gesagt: Alle die hier noch ein wenig laufen könnt, geht weiter, geht über Eure Grenzen, es lohnt sich jeder Schritt für das einmalige Erlebnis.

Mit dem zuteilen des Virtual 2.0 hat sich Groundspeak bei mir bedankt. Für meine Arbeit in meiner Region dem schönen Baselbiet in der Schweiz.
Und ich möchte mich damit bei Riba14 bedanken. Für die moralische Unterstützung am Berg. Denn ohne sie wäre ich weder auf dem Gilman’s Point und noch weniger auf dem Uhuru Peak gestanden.
Aufgabe zum Loggen:

Gehe zum Gilman’s Point und schau dir den linken Pfosten
des Schildes genauer an. Unterhalb des Tanzania Schildes
ist ein zweiteiliges Wort vertikal dick eingeschnitzt.
Wie heisst dieses Word? . . . . . .
2.
Poste ein Foto von dir oder einem Blatt Papier mit Datum und deinem Benutzername
3.
(Optional) Berichte von Deinem Erlebnis am Kilimanjaro im Log.
4.
(Optional) Hänge so viele Fotos an den Log wie du möchtest.

The idea:
How do you come up with such an idea to climb the highest mountain in Africa?
The answer is found quickly: you go to a geocaching trunk table.
In our case it is our own regulars' table of Riba14 and SteLaSyXL the so-called TriRegio Treff. The name he owes the three countries corner:
Switzerland / Germany / France
Here a cacher couple told about their adventure and Riba 14 informed me that she now knows where to go next time. I immediately said yes, not knowing where to go nor how high. And so the project "Uhuhru Peak" was started.
The trip:
As part of 3 crazy geocachers, we Riba14, dfg1998 and I started in Zurich on 22.12.2018 and flown via Doha to Kilimanjaro Airport. From there we first went to our hotel where we spent two days for acclimatization.
But now came our big day and it finally started to defeat the Kilimanjaro.

This is to be dedicated to all who have made it here and give new courage for the last leg to Uhuru Peak at "5895 m above sea level". There are only 1.5 hours and 200 meters in front of you. But it should be said here: All who can walk here a little, goes on, goes beyond your borders, it is worth every step for the unique experience.

Groundspeak thanked me for awarding Virtual 2.0. For my work in my region the beautiful Baselbiet in Switzerland.
And I would like to thank Riba14. For the moral support on the mountain. Without them, I would not have been at Gilman's Point,
much less at Uhuru Peak.
Task for logging:

Go to Gilman's Point and look at the left post of the shield. Underneath the Tanzania shield is a two-part word carved vertically thick.
What is this word called? . . . . . .
2.
Post a photo of yourself or a piece of paper with the date and your username
3.
(Optional) Reports from your experience at Kilimanjaro in the log.

(Optional) Hang as many photos on the log as you want.
