Welcome to my New Plymouth 'homage to Webcam Caches' Virtual cache.
This cache is desgined to get you to utilize some technology while creating a basic awareness of the long gone Webcam Cache type.
This cache can either be carried out on a smart phone / similar device or with the help of a friend at a computer.
Logging Requirements
Go to the website https://www.npsuc.co.nz/webcam-feed.php and go to the locations in order to be within each webcam (not simultaneously). Then either capture a photo / screen capture on your smart phone or get a friend at a computer to capture the image of you at those locations. Then finally attach the three webcam shots to your log.
In the event the webcams aren't working (or you don't have data) you can attach selfies clearly showing you're in each location ('selfie' doesn't have to be your face and can instead show your geocaching name, GPS or other identifying feature).
Photo Requirements:
You need to somehow be the same in each webcam shot (same clothing, pose, etc); and
You need to be identifiable - fairly easy if you take the quick option and stand central and close. If you choose to have more fun and get some of the photos from a boat or along the breakwater you might need to be in a distinctive pose or otherwise stand out.
See the example photos of me in the green hat and one of my sons - the poor weather (and lack of people) helps us stand out.
Optional Extras (nice to do while in the area but in no way required):
Have a feed at one of the fine establishments along the water front,
Walk along the breakwater, or
Enjoy a walk along the costal walkway.
Logs without qualifying photos within two weeks of will be deleted.
