Appalachian Spur am Blauen Berg, in English means "Appalachian Trail at Blue Mountain." You can park in the AT parking lot down on the main road that comes up through Little Gap and passes Blue Mountain Ski Area to the west. The AT parking lot and trail is south of the entrance to the ski area. There are lots of rocks and boulders to scramble up and over on your way to the cache. You will find the cache at about 1,453' +/-.
Exercise caution if taking children and/or dogs onto this section of the AT because it is very rocky with irregular rock piles and placements. Wear proper hiking boots with VIBRAM soles, or similar. Sneakers are right out! Too slippery!
This cache is our second in a series of three cache containers that are hand-painted with a similar mountain scene on one side.

This cache container is an ammo box which has been painted with base coats of light purple. The cache container is clearly marked on its exterior with writing and an official geocache sticker.
