n la batalla de Brunete (6–25 de julio de 1937), librada a 24 kilómetros (15 millas) al oeste de Madrid, el bando republicano realizo un intento de aliviar la presión ejercida por los nacionalistas en la capital y el norte durante la Guerra Civil española.
Aunque inicialmente tuvieron éxito, los republicanos se vieron obligados a retirarse de Brunete y sufrieron devastadoras bajas en la batalla.
Brunete está considerada como uno de las enfrentamientos más sangrientos de la guerra civil española. Así mismo, se convirtió en la principal batalla de la guerra civil en cuanto empleo de carros de combate y grandes masas acorazadas. El pueblo y su casco histórico quedó totalmente arrasado por la artillería y la aviación que participaron en el brutal choque.

Restos de la contienda - Búnkeres
Estos bunkers de Brunete se encuentran localizados en el antiguo cruce de la carretera de Quijorna y Villaviciosa de Odón. Son cuatro pequeños bunkers de forma semiesférica de fácil acceso y su estado es bueno en general. Pertenecían al ejército franquista.
Se encuentran en la retaguardia del frente cubriendo el antiguo paso de la carretera, en la actualidad se ha modificado el trazado del la M-501. Son cuatro fortines semienterrados, con bóveda de media naranja o forma de medio huevo apuntada, con troneras aptas para fusilería en todas las direcciones.
Lamentable alguno se encuentre lleno de basura y como dato curioso uno de ellos es utilizado, para guardar utensilios, por uno de los vecinos al quedar dentro de su jardín. El cuarto está colocado en medio de una rotonda y se encuentra adornado por parte del ayuntamiento.

n the Battle of Brunete (6–25 July 1937), fought 24 kilometres (15 mi) west of Madrid, the Republican attempted to alleviate the pressure exerted by the Nationalists on the capital and on the north during the Spanish Civil War.
Although initially successful, the Republicans were forced to retreat from Brunete and suffered devastating casualties from the battle.
Brunete is considered one of the bloodiest clashes of the Spanish civil war. Likewise, it became the main battle of the civil war in terms of the use of tanks and large armored masses. The town and its historic center was completely devastated by the artillery and aviation that participated in the brutal clash.

Remains of the War - Bunkers
These Brunete bunkers are located at the old intersection of the Quijorna and Villaviciosa de Odón road. There are four small, hemispherical bunkers that are easily accessible and are generally in good condition. They belonged to the Francoist army.
They are located in the rear of the front covering the old road crossing, currently the route of the M-501 has been modified. There are four semi-buried forts, with a half-orange vault or a pointed half-egg shape, with embrasures suitable for rifles in all directions.
Unfortunately some are full of garbage and as a curious fact one of them is used, to store utensils, by one of the neighbors when they are inside their garden. The room is placed in the middle of a roundabout and is decorated by the town hall.
