Geocache Description:

02 August 2019, 17:30 - 18:00

Meet At The Ogden Point Sundial from 17:30-18:00, 2 August 2019
Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada

We will be visiting Victoria, from Dallas, Texas. What better place to meet local and vacationing geocachers than on Dallas Road? Please stop by after work, if you are able.

I have always been fascinated by sundials. In Dallas, there is a virtual geocache where several equinox events have been held:

GC9383  Sun Up at Quorum

The Ogden Point Sundial is an interactive sundial on The Breakwater Path. It requires that you be the gnomen - you know, that funny angled stick that casts the shadow on the dial. (1,287 people on Google have rated it a 4.5/5 star attraction)

17:30 - 17:45 Meet and Greet. If you are new to geocaching or are curious about it, ask questions.

17:45 "Flash Mob" style picture (participation optional) - Hold up your hands and "Be The Sundial."

17:46 - 18:00 Travel Bugs. I will have trackables for discovery. I'll also try to rustle up some doodads and geegaws to give away.

Afterwards, I encourage you to hunt the many cool geocaches nearby that point out items of interest. The Break Water mural and lighthouse; at Beacon Hill is the World's Largest Freestanding Totem Pole; a little farther down the beach is a nearby webcam.
