Welcome to the Annapolis County Lighthouse Series of geocaches!  There are 6 lighthouses in Annapolis County; some on the mighty Bay of Fundy, and some along the shore of the Annapolis Basin.  Each cache contains postcards with the details of that specific lighthouse (while supplies last).  Collect all 6 and send proof to the County of Annapolis Recreation Office at 271 Granville Street Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, and you will receive a trackable geocoin!  The recreation office is only open from 9 am to 1 pm Monday to Friday.

About the MargaretsvilleLighthouse

This lighthouse was built in 1859 and stands 9.4 meters high. The lighthouse is a square wooden tower with sloping sides, built in the popular pepper shaker style. The distinct black mark through the middle of the lighthouse is the only of its kind in Nova Scotia. The 150th anniversary occurred October 24th, 2009. This was celebrated by a harvest supper, memorabilia, and a cake cutting ceremony.
