**The "No Trespassing" signs are in reference to the area inside the fence surrounding the fire tower.** The Welcome Firetower is a riveted steel lattice tower standing on the west side of Firetower Road. Erected in 1934, the Welcome Firetower is one of two remaining fire towers in Southern Maryland that is believed to have been constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Active between 1933 and 1942. Look around what surrounds the Firetower.
