Nell'età del bronzo (circa 5.000 anni fa), una potente colata lavica fino a 1 km nel mare scorreva nella zona costiera nord-occidentale di Forio. È stato calcolato che circa 100 milioni di m³ di lava fluivano lì. Si forma un flusso di lava Aa parzialmente aperto di 60-80 m di spessore. Questo tipo di lava è ricco di SiO2 e quindi viscoso. A causa della bassa velocità di flusso grezzo Lavakrusten e forma Lavakämme bizzarra per raffreddamento da fratture poligonali durante il raffreddamento, cioè queste fessure sono perpendicolari alla superficie di raffreddamento = fratturazione. Ciò si traduce in blocchi di forma irregolare. La viscosità impedisce anche la separazione delle bolle di gas.

In alto nella foresta di leccio di La Guardiola, il famoso regista Luchino Visconti (1906-76) aveva trovato il suo maestoso ritiro dal 1958 in poi. La villa bianca - metà medievale, metà stile Liberty - ospita tra l'altro un piccolo museo visconteo. con molti schizzi in costume dei suoi magnifici film. Ma la cosa più impressionante è la vista del mare aperto dalle finestre e il cammino verso la sua semplice tomba nella foresta. Desiderato, riposa qui - incorporato in un mare di ortensie. Qui è stata creata una scuola di cinema, sotto la direzione del premio Nobel Dario Fo e del regista premio Oscar Bernardo Bertolucci. In the Bronze Age (about 5,000 years ago), a mighty lava flow up to 1 km into the sea flowed in the northwestern coastal area of Forio. Im Bronzezeitalter (also vor ca. 5.000 Jahren) floss im nordwestlichen Küstenbereich von Forio ein mächtiger Lavastrom bis 1 km ins Meer. Es wurde errechnet, dass dort ca. 100 Millionen m³ Lava geflossen sind. Ein 60-80 m mächtiger, teilweise aufgeschlossener Aa-Lavastrom bildete sich. Diese Art von Lava ist reich an SiO2 und damit so zähflüssig. Durch die geringe Fließgeschwindigkeit bilden sich beim Abkühlen raue Lavakrusten und bizarre Lavakämme durch polygonale Klüfte beim Abkühlen, heißt diese Klüfte stehen senkrecht zur Abkühlfläche = Spaltenbildung. Damit entstehen unregelmäßig geformte Blöcke. Die Zähflüssigkeit verhindert auch die Abscheidung von Gasblasen.
Wer auf den Kamm möchte - siehe Wegpunkt, Trittsicherheit ist notwendig - jeder achte selbst darauf was es tue!!! Kein einfacher Weg - eher eine leichte Kletterei!!!

Hoch oben im Steineichenwald La Guardiola hatte der weltberühmte Regisseur Luchino Visconti (1906-76) ab 1958 sein herrschaftliches Refugium gefunden. Die weiße Villa - halb Mittelalter, halb Liberty Style - beherbergt ein kleines Visconti-Museum, u.a. mit vielen Kostümskizzen aus seinen prächtigen Filmen. Doch am beeindruckendsten ist der Weitblick aufs offene Meer von den Fenstern aus und der Spaziergang zu seiner schlichten Grabstätte im Wald. Wunschgemäß ruht er hier - in einem Hortensienmeer eingebettet. Eine Filmschule ist hier entstanden, unter Leitung des Literatur-Nobelpreisträgers Dario Fo und des oscarprämierten Regisseurs Bernardo Bertolucci. Nach Vandalenakten – der Lift wurde angezündet und vieles zerstört ist das Museum geschlossen und wird es vermutlich auch bleiben. Mit etwas Glück kann man die ehemalige Haushälterin antreffen und bekommt eine Kurzführung.

Seit 1994 soll es im Wald von Zaro auf der Insel Ischia bei Neapel Marienerscheinungen geben. Jeweils am 8. und am 26. eines Monats soll die Muttergottes den zwei jungen Seherinnen Simona und Angela erscheinen. Bei den Ereignissen nehmen oft hunderte oder manchmal sogar tausende Pilger teil. Die Botschaften verstehen sich als Botschaften des Trostes. Aber auch Warnungen vor kommenden Ereignissen soll es gegeben haben. Angeblich wurde 1995, die Katastrophe des World Trade Centers (2001) in New York vorausgesagt. "Ich habe Wolkenkratzer einstürzen sehen. Es war eine grauenvolle Szene, und ich bin fürchterlich erschrocken.", lautete damals eine Botschaft. Erst sechs Jahre später, als am 11. September 2001 in New York die Türme des World Trade Center einstürzten, erinnerten sich die Seher und Pilger an diese Botschaft. Die Pilgerschar ist anschließend deutlich angestiegen. Es gibt dort einen Gebetsplatz mit Kreuz, eine schöne Marienstatue und eine Rastmöglichkeit mit Toilette.
