Bigelow Pond is a nice quiet pond with no development anywhere along the shoreline. Just the ticket for a peaceful day of geocaching.
You're going to be needing a boat to get the caches unless you want to wait until winter when you can walk on (frozen) water. Have fun.
Park hours are from 8 am until sunset.
Park entrance is free for all cars with a CT license plate. There's an entrance fee of $15.00 on weekends for out of state vehicles ($6.00 after 4 pm). It use to be free during the week for out of state vehicles but now they're charging out of state vehicles $10 during the week.
There's a " Bigelow Pond Fisherman's Parking" area before you arrive at the entrance gate so it may be OK to park there without having to pay an entrance fee. From the parking area it's a short easy carry to the pond.
