About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website
About Southampton Terminus (for Docks) Station
Southampton Terminus station was open from 1839 until 1966 where it served the city of Southampton and the docks.
It went through several names during its service, first Southampton, then Southampton Docks, then Southampton Town & Docks, followed by Southampton Town for Docks and finally Southampton Terminus (for Docks).
It started and ended only for freight rather than passengers, but did serve both for most of its career. Perhaps most notably in 1912, when many of the passengers for the ill-fated Titanic voyage arrived through its platforms.
The building is still there today, and can easily be seen across the road from GZ.
This event is being held on the 12th annual SideTracked Day on 10th August. Each year these special events are held to celebrate the series.
Please feel free to bring along any trackables to share, and if you want to stop for a coffee then there's a shop just down the road that opens at 8:30.
If you have any trackables that fancy going to the Norwegian Fjords, then give those to me as I'll be heading off to board my cruise ship only a couple of hours after this event.
