The Eden River flows through Brixham from Laywell in Higher Brixham, to the harbour. For the most part it is culverted, overgrown, or passes delightfully through private gardens. In reality, an urban stream.
But its historical spring source at Laywell and intriguing trip to the sea is deserving of further reading: it's more than just a spring supplying a stream. Too much to precis, here's a link for further info:
Laywell Spring and Eden River.
The cache location warrants care, both from traffic and domestic muggles. You'll get a last view of the Eden before it disappears under Brixham and emerges in the inner harbour at the Prince William statue. To stop you disappearing underground as well, a stout metal barrier protects the unwary.
BYOP, and the log must be signed for that desirable smiley.
Enjoy.
