Geocache Description:

The year is 1774 and you have just traveled back in time to life on the frontier. Before the United States of America was even founded, pioneers pillaged this land and erected a settlement in the heart of what is now West Virginia. Take a step back, explore the land they once traveled, and learn what life on the frontier was all about in this five-part geocaching lab adventure!

To play, download the Adventure Lab app on your smartphone and navigate to the posted coordinates. Once there, you will see five unique zones around the vicinity of the fort. You will need to visit all five sites and collect the code word from each to find this geocache.

-=+=- How To Find This Geocache -=+=-

To find this geocache you will need to complete "The Frontier At The Fort" geocaching lab adventure and fill the corresponding codewords into the field guide below. After you correctly input an answer into the adventure lab app you will be rewarded with three digits; enter these numbers into your field guide as well. Once all the lab caches have been located you should have a 15-digit set of coordinates and a 5 letter combo. This information will help you access the final.

Please note: You may do the lab caches in any order, but the code word can be read from top to bottom on the field guide.

After you have all the required information, you will be embarking on a short walk down the rails-to-trails to reach this final container. The terrain is easy until the last 15 feet in which you must do some bushwhacking. You are searching for a typical Troopbiz-style hide. Using your information, access will be granted. Due to heavy tree coverage, the coordinates may be fuzzy, but using the hint the hide should be located easily enough. When done please replace everything exactly as you found it and do your best to exercise stealth when entering and exiting ground zero. This trail is heavily used, so keeping it protected from muggles may be difficult, especially during the winter months.

Thanks for participating in the future of geocaching, I hope you enjoyed my lab cache adventure.

-=+=- What Is A Lab Cache? -=+=-

Lab Caches are an experimental geocache type often played at Mega-Events. These caches count towards your geocaching statistics and total finds. In contrast to other cache types, Lab Caches are not required to have a container and can also be located indoors. This allows Lab Cache owners to innovate and test new ideas to make geocaching even more fun!  In 2019, Geocaching HQ extended the Adventure Lab experiment globally. A select number of geocaching organizations and 250 qualified geocachers received the chance to create Adventures. This is one of the few rare lab caches.
