Geocache Description:

20 July 2019, 18:00 - 19:00

“Houston, Tranquility Base Here: The Eagle Has Landed.”

One of my earliest childhood memories is watching the Apollo 11 moon landing, just a few days shy of my 4th birthday. I distinctly remember my mother getting me up shortly before 10:00 that night to see Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. My memory of the actual landing earlier that afternoon is less vivid. The historical timeline is as follows:

3:17:39 PM CDT Lunar Landing

9:56:15 PM CDT First Step on Lunar Surface, “That’s one small step for man…one giant leap for mankind.”

12:54:00 AM CDT Lunar Liftoff

The 50th anniversary of such a historic event should not pass without celebration, so let’s get together to mark the occasion. It will be an informal event, feel free to come and go at your own discretion. Dining is optional, but the food is quite good. And there will be a drawing for door prizes.

You are encouraged to bring your muggle friends and family. Perhaps we will gain a few converts during our time together. And of course, feel free to bring any trackables for trade or discovery.

“To the moon, Alice!”
