Geocaching at Rocky Ridge Youth Camp Traditional Cache

Ah--the Memories!

As many of you know, in my youth, I was a "guest" of the Rocky Ridge Youth Authority for several years. I was totally innocent! How could I know that the car I borrowed was owned by a policeman?

Anyway, life on the "farm" was not too bad. it was a modern facility, as you can see above. The other inmates taught me about geocaching, and we had fun placing caches around the prison. Several kids later became reviewers when they got out.

Of course, the facility has long since been torn down, but if you look around near GZ, you can still see some steel bars from the old facility. Sometimes I like to hike up here and reminisce.

Naturally, I always looked for an opportunity to escape. One day, I told the guards I wanted to place a "multi" outside. I told them they could have the "FTF" if they helped me, and they fell for it. Whilst they were busy placing a cache, I was running for the "Final," namely, freedom.

Well, it wasn't long before they wised up. They were really made about not getting "FTF." I've always wondered if the cached they placed is still there. I think they used a metallic water bottle. Can you check?
