Wo von der Westküstenstraße das Sträßchen nach Lefkós abzweigt, erstreckt sich der Weiler Ágios Geórgios, auch Áno Lefkós ( Oberes Lefkós ) genannt. Geht man von der zentralen Kreuzung auf einer Betonpiste parallel zu einem ausgetrockneten Flussbett aufwärts, erreicht man nach ca. 200m Treppenstufen. Diese führen zu der jenseits des Bachbettes stehenden Kapelle Ágios Geórgios tou Lefkoú, der einzigen unzerstörten Kreuzkuppelkirche auf Kárpathos. Leider ist von den etwa 800 Jahre alten Fresken im Innern nur noch wenig zu sehen; auf der linken Seite erkennt man immerhin noch den Kopf des heiligen Dimítrios. Direkt neben der Kirche hat man ein kleines Glockentürmchen und eine Brunnenanlage gebaut. In diese ist eine behauene Steinplatte mit einer Abbildung des auf Kárpathos so häufig vorkommenden Rebhuhns. Seit diesem Jahr leben hier allerdings keine Rebhühner, sondern Pfauen.

Coming from the West-Coast-Road to the small street towards Lefkós you will see the hamlet Ágios Geórgios, also known as Àno Lefkós (Upper Lefkós). Continue walking straight from the central crossing on a paved road which runs in parallel to a dried up river to aprox. 200 m and you will reach stairs. These will lead you to the chapel Ágios Geórgios tou Lefkoú on the other side of the creek bed.The chapel is the only existing cross-vault-church on Kárpathos. Unfortunately only little of the 800-years-old frescoes inside the building is left but on the left handside you can identify the head of St. Dimitrios.
