Emoji Cache Multi-Cache

This is a three-stage multi. My young daughter picked this space to hide our first geocache! We hope you enjoy this area as much as we do. This geocache is family friendly, but when accompanied by young children, it will take about 10 min to walk from the posted coordinates to the final stage. Please bring your own pen and tweezers to remove the log. Hope this one adds another happy emoji to your map.

History of the area:
Roberts Field is a wonderful community recreational property located in the western part of Chelmsford. It includes a newly-constructed popular inclusive playground, a little free library, a frog pond, two newly-constructed youth baseball fields, a pollinator park, walking trails, and brand new fitness stations around the open fields. This area provides something for everyone! In the early 1960s, this area was used for farmland and was owned by the Roberts family. In 1970 at a special town meeting, the area was designated as recreational land and was called "Robert's Land at Old Westford," later shortened to "Roberts Field." The first playground was built in 1973. The pond is man-made and was dug in 1974 by the Chelmsford Jaycees and the Army Corps of Engineers as a skating pond. The playground was re-constructed in 1995 and given the name "Friendship Park." It was just recently re-constructed in 2018 to be more inclusive. The wildlife sanctuary at Roberts Field was established in 2015 and includes a pollinator park and one mile of walking trails which encompass the frog pond. The baseball fields and fitness stations were re-constructed in 2022 and the pond is slated to be dredged in the fall of 2022. Please enjoy this space and be respectful of the areas that you visit.
