Geocache Description:

This cache will expire and be removed on 7/10/2006

Cache placed in honor of those who have what it takes to make it to the *top*. Regular tupperware type container with blue lid. Theme: think like an winner, an overcomer! Rah! Rah! Hip-hip-hooray!

CACHE MAINTAINENCE PERFORMED 8/31/03...NEW CONTAINER IS AMMO CAN AND NEWLY RE-STOCKED. CACHE PLACED IN SAME SPOT. OLD CONTAINER WAS ANIMAL BITTEN AND FOUND WAY OFF SITE. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE TEA/COFFEE/FOOD/CANDLES OR ANY ITEMS WITH SCENT!!!!

Park at N39 48.119 W77 28.585 on Old Forge Rd. and take the AT (white blazed) trail to Buzzard Peak at the *top*. Gain in elevation from 1,040' at parking to 1,926' at cache site. Buzzard Peak is 1,946' in elevation. Excellent view!
Recommend combining this cache with the Raccoon Run Cache (on the blue-blazed trail) which forms a nice approx. 2 1/2 mile loop back to the parking. VERY scenic route past the Tumbling Run.

Rating is due to the tricky part of accessing the cache while maintaining balance. Although not placed in any dangerous or precarious *perch* some caution and good old-fashioned common sense are in order. Do be careful! We would not place a cache anywhere we would not personally go.
Also, poke any crevices/cracks/holes 1st with a stick as cache hiding area makes a natural habitat for other critters. Be aware that a few yellow jackets were also spotted while hiding this cache although NOT at the actual spot.

Most importantly, have fun! Allow 2 1/2 - 3 hrs. if combining this cache with the Raccoon Run Cache for a very rewarding hike...perhaps a picnic at Buzzard Peak or nearby Chimney Rocks or along Tumbling Run.
