This cache is located in Shawnee Mission Park lake and a watercraft of some type must be used to retrieve and sign the log. If you do not use a watercraft then your log will be deleted. This is not optional, you cannot get to the cache without some type of watercraft. If there is any indication that you accessed the cache without a boat then I will delete your log, no ifs, ands, or buts.
You can rent a boat at the SMP Marina or bring your own but you are responsible for getting the necessary permits as required.
According to the JCPRD website the marina is open for the 2020 season daily June 1st-Aug 9th. Due to COVID 19 all kayak/canoe/paddleboard/pedal boats must be reserved online and then for only 1 hour at a time. The lake itself is open even when the marina is closed if you have your own personal watercraft. This cache will be disabled when boating on the lake is no longer allowed for the season and then re-enabled for the following season.
