(PT) Contam os populares uma história passada há algumas décadas, em Foz do Sousa.
Zeferino era um jovem do lugar de Pombal, nas Medas, que, a mando da sua mãe, Iria, ia ao lugar de Jancido todos os domingos comprar pão ao sr. Alberto, o melhor padeiro do concelho.
Num desses domingos, viu sair da Igreja Matriz de S. João da Foz do Sousa uma jovem roliça e bonita com longos cabelos morenos e lábios vermelhos. Procurou descobrir quem era, ficando a saber que se tratava de Joaquina, filha do sr. Alberto.
Alguns domingos depois, travando conhecimento com Joaquina e dela gostando, foi pedir ao seu pai a sua mão em casamento. Mas Alberto não confiava num moço de Medas que pouco sabia fazer. Então disse-lhe que o deixava casar se ele conseguisse fazer uma boa broa de milho.
Zeferino tentou por várias vezes, mas Alberto nunca ficava satisfeito. Então ele lembrou-se do segredo da farinha de Alberto. Ele sabia que o padeiro a ia buscar a um moinho pertencente ao sr. Oliveira, sendo com essa farinha que fazia o pão tão gabado por todos no concelho.
Ainda antes do amanhecer, num sábado, Zeferino pôs-se a caminho, descendo o caminho do monte, atrás do moinho do sr. Oliveira, levando consigo apenas um velho mapa mal desenhado que encontrou numa gaveta da padaria de Alberto.
Com a farinha que de lá trouxe fez uma grande broa de milho. E, no dia seguinte, convidou o sr. Alberto e Joaquina para um lanche na casa da sua mãe. Alberto, surpreso pela boa broa, empregou o jovem na sua padaria e deixo-ou casar-se com Joaquina. Passou a ser Zeferino a ir ao moinho do sr. Oliveira buscar a farinha com que cozinhavam o pão para a freguesia e seus visitantes, até o moinho deixar de moer e ficar ao abandono.
Será que, depois de tanto tempo, consegues encontrar o velho moinho e a saca em que Zeferino levava com pão quentinho para o moleiro, em troco do seu trabalho?

Zeferino was a young man from Pombal's place in the Medas who, at the behest of his mother, Iria, went to Jancido every Sunday to buy bread from mr. Alberto, the best baker in the county.
On one of those Sundays, he saw a beautiful young woman with long dark hair and red lips come out of the Church od S. João da Foz do Sousa. He tried to find out who it was, knowing that it was Joaquina, daughter of mr. Alberto.
A few Sundays later, getting to know Joaquina and liking her, she went to ask her father for her hand in marriage. But Alberto did not trust a boy from Medas who could do so little. So he told him he would let them get married if he could make good cornbread.
Zeferino tried several times, but Alberto was never satisfied. Then he remembered the secret of Alberto's flour. He knew the baker was going to fetch it from a mill belonging to Mr Oliveira, being with this flour that he made the bread so bragged by everyone in the county.
Just before dawn on a Saturday, Zeferino set out on his way down the hill after Mr Oliveira's watermill, carrying with him only a badly drawn old map he found in a drawer of Alberto's bakery.
With the flour he brought, he made a large cornbread. And the next day he invited Mr Alberto and Joaquina for a snack at their mother's house. Alberto, surprised by the good bread, employed the young man in his bakery and let me marry Joaquina. It became Zeferino's task to go to Oliveira's mill to pick up the flour with which they cook the bread for the parish and its visitors until the mill stoped grinding and was abandoned.
Can you, after all this time, find the old watermill and the sack in which Zeferino brought warm bread to the miller in exchange for his work?
