When I first saw these structures located throughout the new portions of the park, I knew they were just crying out for a cache -- it was just a matter of finding the right structure! Unfortunately, when wire guides marking the edges of the trails were added, my original cache became officially "off the trail" and I was instructed to archive it. The currect location was a spot I had in mind for a "Rocks in Captivity II" spot but, before I could get it listed, someone else placed a cache there. That cache has now been archived so I am re-doing Rocks in Captivity!
Welcome to Sunset Park! Park hours are from 6:00 AM until 11:00 PM.
The geocache is a small magnetic key hider with a log only. Bring your own writing instrument. Please be sure that the geocache is secure and well hidden when you replace it. The cache is located about 3.5 feet off the ground behind the metal wraparound. The key hider has only one magnet -- two would have made it nearly impossible to extricate! As it is, you will need to push down from above and pull down from below. Please make sure that the geocache is returned to the same spot in the same vertical orientation with the magnet at the bottom, and that it is not visible at all once rehidden.
Enjoy your trip to Sunset Park and cache on!
