By attending this event you will receive the 2019 International Geocaching Day Souvenir!

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.

Are you new to geocaching? Or have you been caching for a little while, but want to pick up some additional tips? Maybe you're an experienced geocacher who is willing to share your knowledge and team up with some beginners to lend a hand? Join the Savannah Area Geocachers for Geocaching 101. We'll spend some time indoors going over the basics and then get out on the property to test your newly acquired skills. Please bring your GPS units if you have one or more.

All are welcome. We hope to have plenty of beginners looking to learn more.

We also hope to have some experienced cachers willing to team up with the new folks to teach coach and mentor, and try to bring extra GPS units that new folks can see & touch if they don't have one of their own. Please indicate in your Will Attend log if you are willing to help and will have one or more GPS units.

Who: Any Geocacher in the area whether you live here or just passing through.

Reminder: If you pick up a Travel Bug or trackable at an event, please make sure that you log it out so it doesn't show up in the events list. If a trackable sits as being listed in the event for a couple of months, the event organizer is the one that gets the e-mail from the TB owner(s)!

Event cache pages are archived around 30 days after the event and trackable items still listed in the event at that time will have their status changed to being in an unknown location.
