This cache honors the highest point in the state of Utah. Kings Peak stands at 13,528 feet above sea level and ranks as the seventh highest state highpoint. Summiting Kings is best done as a three day backpacking adventure. The most popular route is to hike on the first day into Dollar Lake. The second day, summit day, is more challenging. Often foul weather will thwart climbing attempts. The last few hundred feet of gain involves much boulder hopping. Total round trip hiking for the three days is 28 miles.
Unless you are into bushwacking, best access to the Kings Peak cache can be gained by proceeding first to the intersection at position N 34 29.498 W 112 32.198. Then turn left and continue uphill.
