Borrowing this idea from P98: Let's work on some of those higher event terrain ratings. This one will require you to walk to the top of the hill and meet at the base of the statue Guard of the Plains. You MUST make it to the posted coordinates or you cannot claim a smiley, no staying at the bottom of the hill. The terrain rating is not a joke. This will be a rain or shine event unless lightning is in the area. If that is the case then I will post on here any changes. We will take a group picture at 9:50am then disperse.
This rest stop can be accessed from both west and east bound lanes of I-70. The trail head is accessible from the west bound side but parking can still be done on the east bound side.
