It was a surprise to find this awesome trail! This is a very easy trail to hike. It runs alongside the knife river. It’s about a mile hike round trip to the cache. The trail itself is about 5 miles long. You will pass an old copper mine and a small water fall on the way to the cache. This trail was once part of the SHT but was a abandoned by them and taken over by the Knife River Recreation Council. They do an awesome job maintaining it and they are fighting to keep it around because the land might be sold. Fill out a questionnaire at the trailhead while you’re there.
