Pervious Pavers aren't just bricks! This business received a Stormwater Quality Projects Incentive Grant from the city of Lexington to install pervious pavers in their parking lot. Pervious pavers are an alternative to asphalt and concrete. They are used in combination with different materials, such as gravel or limestone to allow rain to drain in a more natural way. These are also beneficial for filtering out contaminants from urban run-off as it soaks under the bricks instead of running in our streets or streams. These pavers also help with erosion control, and do not require specialty equipment. This alternative is a great way to reduce the carbon footprint by utilizing recycled materials and an easy way to help with water management.
