Travel Bug Cemetery in the Land of Lincoln Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

geonerds2013: Sorry everyone-this one seems to have wondered off. Since it didn’t really become the TB Cemetery I had hoped, I’m going to archive and open up the spot for a new cache.

Geocache Description:

While visiting this lovely park, I I realized I could see a couple cemeteries while driving through. I have been wanting to hide a "Travel Bug Cemetery" for some time, and this seemed like the perfect spot. I know these are sort of a relic from the past, but I like the idea of seeing how many bug "spirits" can be left in this cache.

This is a cache where owners of travel bugs that have gone missing or been destroyed (such as much totaled Prius that had a tracking number on it) can be laid to rest. This gets deceased bugs off the cache pages as well as out of the owners' hands, while still maintaining the history, logs, and finds for the bugs.

To bury a dead bug here, you MUST FIND, SIGN, and LOG this cache in person. You can either "drop" off the bug with your log or in a note.

Coincidently, there is an actual living trackable item in the cache; a prize for the FTF! Please read its description and follow the directions.

Permission to hide this cache was granted by Jason Graham, Director of Parks and Planning, Springfield Parks Department.
