I once wondered why the school district numbers were so high? I know there are not 2908 districts in Minnesota. Then I saw that each school house used to have it's own district # and when they unified these small districts they did not reuse the old numbers causing gaps in the school district numbers. Now days if you live in Dayton and choose the school district you are in one of three districsts the biggest is Anoka - Hennepin, the Next Osseo, and the last being Elk River/Otsego/Rogers/Zimmerman.
