Rabun's newest park, Stekoa Creek Park, has a nice nature trail made up of native shrubs, trees, and wildflowers, along with the building of a rain garden, wildflower garden, and a community pavilion for public use and enjoyment. The Chattooga Conservancy has established this 3.5 acre city park by removing invasive plants, tons of garbage, along w/ moving and transforming large chunks of concrete and bricks there for making steps, retaining walls, erosion control and other misc. items around the park.
Stekoa Creek Park was constructed by the Chattooga Conservancy, a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the environment and cultural heritage of the Chattooga River watershed. The organization created the park to demonstrate the potential for more projects that could benefit the community, while helping to clean up Stekoa Creek.
