Geocache Description:

Hairy Hill is now home to a bison statue, taking its place among Alberta’s great roadside attractions. Hairy Hill was named by settlers who found the hills covered in bison hair shed by the herds. In the 1900s when the Canadian Pacific Railway laid its tracks, they found all the hair on the large hills and the hamlet had it's name. The bison statue was dedicated in June 2017 during the Hairy Hill School Reunion. Tourists can now see the bison statue and a historical information plaque on mainstreet near the Post Office.

While here, check out this little hamlet. Very few residents still live here but it is an interesting look at a old era. Give the kids a chance to get out of the car to stretch their legs and explore. The hamlet is quiet so there isn't a worry about traffic.

The Cache

The cache is located nearby the bison statue. The camo container is big enough for swag. Please replaced to exact location.

I updated the attributes for this cache - it isn't available in the winter. When the snow is plowed, they push the snow against this location making the access somewhat difficult.
