This geocache is located near the Trout Lake fork of False Bay Creek on the north side of Ihiya Biological Preserve which consists of 33 acres of vital riparian habitat that feeds our precious Salish Sea. It was formed for the purpose of protecting an essential wetlands so that it can exist unimpaired for wildlife and for human appreciation, connection to nature, environmental education, and wild herbal medicine.
Park at the roped off access road (right side) opposite a private drive. Follow the easy grassy access road east about 800' then down the new trail another 500' to the creek. Turn right and cross creek.
There are 2 cache sites on Ihiya, both located near existing trails with nearby parking. They can also be accessed by a new connecting trail making for an enjoyable longer loop hike. Parking for 2 to 3 cars is provided at the trail heads. In order to minimize disruption to wildlife dogs are welcomed but must be on leashes.
