Geocache Description:

Unless you urgently need to use the important facilities it is best to park in the alternative car park by the notice board.

These facilities are somewhat more basic than those located closer to the more populated areas of the city but they are generally clean, odourless and practical. The building is of concrete blocks pained a lime green colour both in and outside. The doors are wooden and there is no apparently way to easily secure them from the outside so they are obviously available 24/7. A bolt is used to secure the door from the inside. I forgot to check on lighting so a torch might be helpful at night. The hand basin and toilet bowl are of stainless steel. No additional seat is provided but there are a couple of black plastic raiser arcs to sit on if needed that will keep any bare skin from the cold metal. The units are unisex and one has plently of room for a wheel chair. No hot water, soap or hand drying facilities are provided but there is a sanitary product waste disposal unit in each room.

The ground between here and the longer term parking area often has surface water lying around after rain. A playground is present as well as tables for picnics and rubbish bins but generally try and take your rubbish with you and recycle to help prevent any overflowing of rubbish especially at busy times. There are plenty of wilderness areas for kids to explore but be aware that there are streams in the area that have backed up due to sand blocking the mouth. You can find various recent plantings of native vegetation. There may be the odd blackberry brambles growing in the general areas.
