The Flintstones is an animated sitcom produced by Hanna-Barbera. It was originally broadcast from September 30, 1960 until April 1, 1966 and was the first animated series to air during prime time. The series takes place in the Stone Age, in the town of Bedrock and follows the activities of the Flintstones and their next-door neighbors and best friends, the Rubbles. They live in a world where dinosaurs coexist with modernized cavepeople and enjoy primitive, yet humorous, versions of modern conveniences where baby mammoths served as vacuum cleaners and a bird’s beak would be used as a needle for a record player.
Fred is the main character of the series. He’s a bronto-crane operator at the Slate Rock and Gravel Company. He is quick tempered, usually over trivial matters, but is a loving husband to his wife, Wilma and daughter, Pebbles. Fred's trademark catchphrase yell is "yabba dabba doo!"
