Burn Brae Summit
A brae is a hill, frequently from a river up to a village, or away from a village up into hills above. The group of houses at the bottom of this hill are known locally as Burnbrae.
This is quite a walk. Even the car asks for third or even second for this one.
The cache is placed at the beginning of a forestry track, which has been improved recently. If walking, this track can be used to cut the corner towards Morton Castle, and provides high views NW across Nithsdale after the initial forest walk. Turn right at the obvious place, then left when you meet the road to reach the castle. Alternatively, keep turning right to return back to where you are.
Park and grab this one, but if you want to walk, use the laybys on the road further along.
