Geocache Description:

This cache is not at the posted coordinates.

However, you will need to visit the posted coordinates in order to determine the final coordinates of the cache container.

The posted coordinates will bring you to one of the remaining public, outdoor payphones in the area. It is facing the train tracks and has a sign above it, so it should be easy to spot. Please be careful of the train tracks when in this area!

Something about picking up the payphone receiver and listening to the same calm woman's voice that has come out of Bell payphone receivers in Canada for decades brings me on quite a nostalgia trip. I fondly recall placing collect calls from payphones to my mum, but recording a quick message such as "pickmeupatthetrainstation!" when prompted for my name, so that it didn't actually cost either of us anything to get her the message. It's crazy to think that many of the current generation hasn't had the experience of using payphones, and likely never will.

In order to locate the final, you will need to do a tiny little bit of research and math in order to determine NUMBER.

NUMBER = 1-888-XXX-YYYY.

Bell Canada, the operator of many (if not all) of the remaining payphones in the area, has been around for a very long time - longer than you might think.

What YEAR was Bell Canada founded? YYYY = 2578 + YEAR

The coin-operated payphone has been around for almost, but not quite, as long.

How many years after the founding of Bell Canada was the first coin-operated payphone invented? Consider that number to be Z. XXX = 636 + (Z * 10).

As a simple check, the sum of all of the individual digits in NUMBER, including the 1-888, is 61.

Once you have deternined NUMBER, you must go to the posted coordinates and dial NUMBER on the phone at that location. You will then be given the final coordinates. No money is required to obtain the final coordinates.

Once you have the final coordinates, the physical cache is a short walk away (or a drive, if you're lazy.) This area can be muggle-heavy, so please be careful when searching for and accessing the final. Enjoy!

Please be careful when opening and closing the final cache container, and replace it exactly as found!
