Geocache Description:

The is second in the Riverbike Cache series. Easy bike ride from Harrison or from various trail access points. Great ride from Cataldo or the Snakepit.

This great new, and paved, 72 mile bike trail is nearing completion. Although not offically open, users are being allowed to all but the restrooms at this point. The trail takes bikers along the Coeur d' Alene river and lake and through beautiful mountains and forests along the old Union Pacific Railroad line. This cache is about 4 miles upriver from the historic town of Harrison and located in a rock canyon. In honor of the September 11 victims, the cache was placed one year after the attack. Items include an American flag lapel pin just like the President wears, a special memorial ribbon to the first finder, a red tulip bulb, a personal bodyguard, a music CD, a bike tire repair kit, Star Wars items, a L.E.D. light, flip sunglasses, dog treats, a towel for those wanting a dip in the river, and more.
